Getting convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) is stressful. Getting through the process of fulfilling your judgment as seamlessly as possible is the ultimate goal. If you have been ordered to install an Ignition Interlock Device as part of your court order, we here at Naylor’s aim to help that process go smoothly.

How Much Will it Cost to Install and Maintain

There is a one-time installation fee based on these factors:

  • Year, make and model of vehicle the device will be installed in
  • Specific technological features of the vehicle such as auto start
  • Shipping fees
  • Any specific fees or taxes in accordance with state laws

An Ignition Interlock Device also requires a monthly lease to pay for the operation and maintenance of the device. The cost is typically between $60 and $90 per month. The cost of your monthly lease payment will depend on the following factors:

  • Length of time you need your device
  • The model of device you are required to have according to your state law (GPS, camera, real-time reporting)
  • The frequency of compliance reporting required by your home state
  • Any specific fees or taxes in accordance with state laws

Promotional Discounts & Financial Assistance

There are many options when deciding how you will pay for your IID. Intoxalock has a Discounts and Promotions page where you can find their state-specific discounts and promotions. They also offer a bi-weekly payment option if you need to make smaller payments.

You may qualify for financial assistance with the cost of the Ignition Interlock Device. Factors that help determine qualification include:

  • Household income
  • Eligibility for the federal food stamp program
  • Employment status
  • Court discretion

You can call Intoxalock to speak to a state specialist regarding your financial assistance options.

What to Expect on Installation Day

Naylor’s Auto Repair is locally owned and an Intoxalock certified installer. So you can rest easy knowing your car will not be affected and your device will function properly. For information see our article on device operation and maintenance, How Ignition Interlock Devices Work.

We do highly recommend returning to Naylor’s or another provider who is familiar with Intoxalock, specifically. Having someone unfamiliar with your device attempt to perform maintenance or repairs on your vehicle can cause you to get locked out, incur fees, and even get a probation violation!
